NYAN HEROES - Yucatan Map Trim Textures, Damage Decals and Icons

As part of the environment art team for Nyan Heroes, I contributed to the Yucatan-themed map by creating key visual assets that helped define the look and feel of the environment. My responsibilities included:

Trim Textures: Crafted reusable trim sheets designed to support a modular workflow, allowing for efficient detailing of walls, structures, and props. These textures balanced the aesthetics of ancient ruins with futuristic materials to match the map’s hybrid visual style.

Damage Decals: Developed a library of damage decals—such as cracks, erosion, and impact marks—to add realism, age, and storytelling details across surfaces throughout the map.

Stone Symbols: Created sculptural stone symbols composed of geometric shapes and carved patterns. These decorative motifs were used to add cultural and narrative depth to the environment, functioning as environmental storytelling pieces that reinforced the map’s blend of ancient tradition and sci-fi influence.

All assets were developed in coordination with level design and environment leads to maintain visual cohesion and gameplay readability.
