As part of the environment art team for Nyan Heroes, I worked on shaping the cold and rugged landscape of the Erebus map by creating a variety of natural assets that define the terrain and atmosphere. My responsibilities included:
Ice Walls & Glaciers: Sculpted and textured large-scale ice formations to serve as environmental barriers and landmarks. These elements were designed to reflect the frozen setting while supporting gameplay flow and level readability.
Proud to have been part of this skilled and creative team:
Level Artist: Eunice Mendoza
3D/Texture Artists: Francesca Vallar, John Landicho, Jonathan Teodoro, Louie Alcober, Ronel Pormento
Concept Artists: Moritz Cremer, Alessandro Rocco, Nuan Bai
Principal Level Artist: Beverly Manalang
Level Design: Andrey Pietilya, Andrew Rybolovlev
Tech Artist:Carlos Cardenas, Dimitrios Zerkoulis
3D Art Lead: Emman Alzaga
Art & Lighting Direction: Jude Bond
Cliffs & Rocks: Created modular cliff and rock assets that were used to build out the verticality and natural structure of the map. These were carefully crafted to blend seamlessly with ice elements and maintain a cohesive, glacial aesthetic.
Each asset was designed with visual storytelling in mind, incorporating layers of snow, erosion, and surface variation to reflect the age and harshness of the Erebus environment. I collaborated closely with level designers and world builders to ensure that these natural formations enhanced navigation, cover opportunities, and the overall gameplay experience.
